May Cycling Development Camp

Join stokers and pilots from across the U.S. for a cycling development camp hosted by U.S. Association of Blind Athletes at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, May 9-15, 2018!

  • You’ll learn bike handling skills, safe riding techniques and road racing strategies from elite-level coaches and three-time Paralympic medalist, Pam Fernandes.

  • Riders will practice skills and race simulations on the road and track. Classroom seminars on how to enhance your training off the bike will be offered in the evenings.

  • Military Veterans and Active Duty Service Members are strongly encouraged to apply as either stokers or pilots. Funding is available from the U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs Adaptive Sports Program to help offset expenses.


 

Ideal applicants are in a physical condition to endure two rides per day and 150 miles of riding during the week. You should also be able to provide your own pilot and equipment. If you need a pilot or equipment, please notify USABA when applying.

A $540 program fee includes accommodations at Olympic Training Center, ground transportation, meals, training, etc. Note the program fee does not include travel to and from Colorado Springs. Partial funding assistance is available for both military and non-military participants.
