FCCU grants support CISV USA and its Chapters

The Foundation for Cross Cultural Understanding (FCCU) grants are awarded solely to the Chapters, Steering Committees, and National Committees of CISV USA, as well as the National Association itself. Grant applications are received and evaluated by all members of the the Board of Trustees for the Foundation.

When evaluating grant proposals the Trustees look at a variety of criteria. Those factors include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • New and innovative projects
  • Purpose of the project
  • Timeframe for the project
  • Budget and funding from additional sources outside the Foundation
  • Number of people benefiting
  • Value to the organization and people of CISV
  • Future sustainability and impact
  • Practicality of the project
All grant applications are evaluated in the best interest of CISV USA, its Chapters and Steering Committees, but generally speaking, the Foundation doesn't fund projects that are a normal part of business or operational expenses that are the responsibility of the Chapters or the National Association.

The Foundation for Cross Cultural Understanding is a USA tax exempt organization
under Section 501(c)(3).

Scholarships for college-bound members of CISV USA and its Chapters

For over sixty years, CISV's purpose has been to educate and inspire individuals to become active and contributing members of a peaceful society - active global citizens. The Foundation for Cross Cultural Understanding has supported the further development of CISV's global citizens by providing some financial support for the members of CISV USA in furthering their education.

The Scholarship for Humanity was established to provide some financial assistance to CISV members who are currently pursuing a career which will improve the quality of life for humankind. The annual open application period for a Scholarship for Humanity is January 1st through March 31st. Three references must be supplied with each application.
